Call for February Pitches
Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for signing up for my email list! I’ve been getting your personal pitches and emails, too. I’m reading them but can’t respond to all, which I do feel bad about being a publicist myself! (#publicistproblems). Rest assured, I am keeping them and will be in touch if I can use your client as a source.
Right now, I’m not reviewing any products or doing product round-ups for any of the websites where I freelance. Keep that in mind and see if you can find a way to tweak the angle so that it’s focused on a larger story with your company CEO as spokesperson on a specific topic. Then, I can link to the website in the story.
I WILL review products for my personal outlets (joellesperanza.com, @thejoellesperanza and my other Substack newsletters. More on that below!)
CALL FOR FEBRUARY PITCHES
No surprise here--for Feb. stories I’m looking for Black History Month and Valentine’s Day angles.
I prefer to pitch my editors for features rather than roundups of expert quotes (unless you have multiple sources I can use to fill a story).
As usual, seeking topics for parents/ family, motherhood, and pets! Would love to do feature interviews with some influencers in these areas if they have interesting stories to share!
Pitch me your topics at joelle@joellesperanza.com and be sure to put SUBSTACK in the subject line.

If your client is not featured in these stories, I am saving their quotes and will see where else I can use them, including my other Substacks.
CALL FOR DIVORCE EXPERTS
I just started Trash the Dress: a Substack publication and newsletter for young divorced women. Inspired by my book, Trash the Dress: Stories of Celebrating Divorce in your 20s.
First issue here: Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, But Worth It
Seeking any expert who can provide tips for this community. Finance experts, mental health professionals, health and wellness experts, divorce lawyers, etc.
Also will be sharing stories from fellow divorced women, along with tips, lessons learned, dating checklists, Good Riddance lists, divorce party and tattoo ideas, and more.
Trash the Dress book is available here.

CALL FOR FEMALE EMPOWERMENT SOURCES / WOMEN OWNED BUSINESSES + PRODUCTS
My Hero with Girl Power newsletter is new on Substack!
This is inspired by my children’s book, Princess Genevieve: The Hero with Girl Power.
First issue here: Give That Girl Wings And That’s All That She Wrote.
This newsletter is a space to celebrate and encourage dream chasing women. I’ll be featuring inspirational quotes, spotlights on female founders and women-owned businesses and products, light business tips (productivity, career, side-hustles, stress management) and other fun stuff.
Seeking a diverse group of experts, businesses and products to spotlight.
Each issue, I’ll also be asking WHAT DOES GIRL POWER MEAN TO YOU?
Feel free to submit your quotes!
Pitch me at joelle@joellesperanza.com and put Hero with Girl Power Substack in your subject line.
FIVE FUN THINGS
1. Currently Watching: How I Met Your Father on Hulu. So far, so cute! Can it live up to HIMYM? Probably not, but I am still going to enjoy watching!
2. Tour I’m Excited For But Not Going To: When We Were Young Tour (SO many great bands, but the My Chemical Romance reunion makes the whole event!)
3. Currently Reading: New issue of Good Housekeeping and wishing I had a bright yellow laundry room
4. Proud of myself for: Going to Target and only spending $8!
5. Snacking on: Enjoy Life allergy-free dark chocolate (anyone else allergic to soy?!)
Always grateful,
Joelle
